How to Use Handier

Posting a Job

Getting quotes for your property maintenance work is simple:

  1. Go to the Post a Job tab
  2. Enter a clear title and detailed description of the work required
  3. Select all relevant trade categories (e.g. Plumbing, Electrical)
  4. Add the property address and postcode
  5. Upload photos of the work area if possible — this helps contractors provide more accurate quotes
  6. Set the urgency level if the work is time-sensitive
  7. Click Post Job & Get Quotes

Reviewing Contractor Quotes

Once your job is posted, vetted contractors in your area will be notified:

  1. Quotes typically arrive within 24 hours
  2. Go to My Jobs and click on a job card to view received quotes
  3. Each quote shows the contractor's name, trade, price, and any notes
  4. Compare quotes side-by-side to find the best fit

Accepting a Quote

When you've found the right contractor:

  1. Click Accept Quote on your chosen contractor's application
  2. The contractor will be notified immediately and assigned to your job
  3. Their contact details (phone, email) will be visible on the job detail page
  4. You can then coordinate directly with the contractor on scheduling and access

Job Status Tracking

Track your jobs through each stage:

  • Awaiting Quotes — Your job is live and contractors are reviewing it
  • Contractor Assigned — You've accepted a quote and the contractor is confirmed
  • In Progress — The contractor has started work
  • Completed — The job has been finished

Managing Your Profile

Keep your profile up to date to ensure smooth communication:

  • Update your company/property name, phone number, and address
  • Accurate contact details help contractors reach you quickly
  • Your email address is used for login and cannot be changed

Tips for Better Quotes

  • Be as specific as possible in your job description
  • Always upload photos — contractors give better quotes when they can see the work
  • Include access instructions if the property has restricted entry
  • Select multiple trade categories if the job spans different skills
  • Set realistic timelines to attract more contractors
