How to Use Handier

Post a Job

Go to the Post a Job tab and fill in the details of the work you need done. Add a clear title, detailed description, budget range, and your postcode. You can select multiple trade categories if the job requires different skills. Adding a photo helps contractors understand the scope of work.

Receive Applications

Once your job is posted, up to 3 vetted contractors can apply within 7 days. You will see their applications on your job card in the My Jobs tab. Each applicant includes their trade, experience, and a message about why they are suited for the work.

Message Contractors

Use the Messages tab to chat directly with contractors who have applied. Ask questions about their approach, discuss pricing, request references, or arrange a site visit before making your decision. All messages are kept within the platform for your records.

Choose Your Contractor

When you are ready, click Choose this Contractor on your preferred applicant. The chosen contractor will be notified and other applicants will be informed they were not selected. You can then continue to message your chosen contractor to finalise arrangements.

Track Your Jobs

The My Jobs tab gives you an overview of all your jobs with stats at the top. Jobs can be Open (accepting applications), Contractor Chosen (work in progress), or Expired (7-day window ended — you can re-post expired jobs with one tap to give them another 7 days). You can post new jobs at any time.

Stay Safe

All contractors on Handier are vetted. If you encounter any issues with a contractor, use the Report button in the messaging area. Never share personal financial details through the platform. Keep all communication within Handier for your protection.
